The '''iCom IC-PCR1000''' was a headless computer controlled [[Communications Receiver]] / Scanner first produced by [[iCom]] in 1997 before being discontinued sometime in the 2000s, a wideband receiver, it is able to tune between 100 kHz and 1300 MHz, and is able to demodulate AM, FM, SSB and CW signals, the unit features a small speaker.


Though similar in operation to a modern [[Software Defined Radio]] the PCR1000 is not an SDR since an entire receiver, filters, and demodulation are built straight into the unit, with no DSP operations performed by the computer, this also means no I/Q data can be recorded, but it does include features that would later become common on SDRs such as the ability to save memory channels to the computers hard drive and auto scan writing, a primitive bandscope is also included in the software suite.
