Radiotelephony is the sending of sound, especially voice, via radio waves. It does not include transmission via morse code, or the transmission of digital or image data. In common use it's often called "phone"; a multi-mode transceiver may have a selector for "phone", "CW" (for morse code), "data" etc.

It is not to be confused with the public telephone network.
