The Anderson Powerpole is a standardized power connector consisting of a red and black terminal with wires clamped and connected through the rear. It is designed such that a given red and black (typically represented as positive and negative leads) cannot be connected in reverse causing a short in the system.
Powerpoles come in a variety of sizes for 15A, 30A and 45A use cases depending on the gauge of wire it is connecting to. Each size is designed to connect together (ex. a 15A can mate with a 30A connector in the correct orientation).[1]
